Supercars champ Kostecki to split from Erebus team in shock move
According to reports, Brodie Kostecki is on the verge of parting ways with Erebus Motorsport after a major disagreement with team management. This comes after the team already lost Will Brown to Triple Eight at the end of last season. There have been tensions within the team for some time, with Kostecki reportedly having a fall-out with the squad last year. Kostecki’s best performance of the season ironically came right after this fall-out, winning all three races at the Tailem Bend round. If Kostecki leaves Erebus, it is unlikely he would be released to join another team, making his participation in endurance events uncertain. Kostecki has been linked with a future in NASCAR and has already competed in a Cup race with Richard Childress Racing. Erebus’ best prospect for a replacement driver seems to be Todd Hazelwood, who has prior experience as a full-time Supercars driver and familiarity with the Gen3 racer. Erebus Motorsport has already undergone changes with the appointment of Brad Tremain as the new Team Principal.
